9 1/2 years ago I had a neurologist tell me that he could not guarantee that I wouldn’t be in a wheelchair in ten years time. He had just discovered a massive cyst in my spinal cord which meant it was being stretched to the limit (left scan).

I was four months pregnant!

Needless to say, it was a very stressful time.

Well, as of yesterday, after visiting the amazing neurosurgeon that operated on it at the time, the cyst has shrunk more than expected (right scan). He said it is actually unusual for it to keep shrinking over time.

So I won’t be needing that wheelchair thank you very much. I’m thinking this might just call for a glass of bubbles.

It goes to show there is always hope and possibility. No matter how far down in the pit you are you can always claw your way back up, and music helps, of course. Where would we actually be without the gift of music at times like this?
