Do you find yourself living in the shadow of others sometimes? I have had so many conversations over the years with people who had a member of the family who could ‘play music so well.’ The inference is generally that although they themselves had lessons as well they don’t think they were as good as that family member. They tell me how they weren’t that great at sight-reading thinking that is the be-all and end-all of experiencing that mystical realm of playing great sounding music.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to continue thinking that you need to be a copy of whoever that person is for you. You can stop living through them today.

Now.

You can say what you want to say and be who you want to be.

You don’t have to be anybody else except you.

You are enough.

You are talented.

You are gifted.

You ARE musical.

You are creative.

You are inventive.

You are quite capable, thank you very much.

In fact, you are possibility itself.

Just because someone else does something one way doesn’t mean it will suit you to do it the same way.

You.are.not.them.

What works for them may not work for you and that’s ok.

Step out of their shadow now. You have lived under the heavy weight of it for long enough.

Yes, that system may have been fine for them but you know you need something different.

Something that entices.

Something that intrigues.

Something that teaches on a level that will give you the understanding that you have been craving.

It doesn’t have to be difficult. It can be a simple as you are hoping as long as you are prepared to do the work required.
