Happy New Year!

I hope you are enjoying the holiday season.

Do you have a practice of gratefulness?

I know it’s something that’s probably ‘over-talked’ about on social media and done to death these days but I’m curious, is it something you incorporate into your daily, weekly, monthly routine? Have you been able to make it a practice?

Personally, I love the idea of it as I’ve definitely experienced the benefits of focusing on all the good around me. However, I’ve been a bit hit and miss of late with the actual practice of it. In fact, I’ve just looked back over my journal for 2018 and there are 31 entries. That works out to be only 2.5 entries per month. Quite often we will have a conversation as a family of three things that we are each grateful for, so I’m not going to be too hard on myself : )

My intention for 2019 is to write at least a page per week.

It’s like anything though, it won’t happen unless we INTEND it to happen and focus on the outcome and how it’s going to feel when it actually does happen. It’s the same with anything, including piano playing! I think at this time of year we can make all these New Year resolutions that revolve around change and improving our lives but within a few days it just feels overwhelming and all too hard and we can easily give up. Perhaps the best idea is to just choose one thing at a time and focus on that until it is embedded and just happens automatically.

What do you think? Are you making any changes this year? I would love to know what your ONE THING is.

Comment below and let me know.
